In comparison to UK or EU students, international students in the UK must pay a higher tuition fee. The cost of tuition varies depending on the university, course, and city. International students pay a charge that ranges from £10,000 (US$14,130) to £38,000 (US$53,700) or more for medical degrees. The average cost of studying in the United Kingdom is roughly £22,200 (US$31,380) per year, with students who choose to remain in London spending substantially more.

Living Expenses

In addition to tuition costs, the UK Border Agency (UKBA) now requires overseas students to have a budget of at least £1,265 per month to study in London as part of the new visa criteria. If the campus is located outside of London, the UKBA requires a minimum budget of £1,015 per month. To live in or around London, you may need roughly £200 to £300 per week on average. It's only a rough estimate; actual expenditures will vary based on your lifestyle, where you live, and how much you socialise.

Admission and Application Process

The process of obtaining a visa entails multiple procedures. Student visa applications for the United Kingdom are processed within three weeks after receipt of the full application.

Step1: Determine if you are eligible.
You must be able to demonstrate that you possess:
• A guaranteed spot in the school, university, or college where you plan to study. A 'confirmation of acceptance for studies' is what it's called (CAS).
• Enough money (sometimes referred to as "maintenance or finances") to cover your course fees and living expenses in the United Kingdom.

Step 2: Prepare your documents.
You must include the original document as well as a photocopy for each document you submit.
• 1 passport-sized colour photograph that matches the photo criteria
• A signed copy of your completed visa application form
• A valid passport
• Any previous passports to indicate your previous travel experience
• If you transmit a document that is not in English, it must be accompanied by a full, verifiable translation.

Step 3: Fill out an online application.
On the official UK Visa website, you must register and create an account.

You must print and sign your full online application form when you have completed it. To schedule an appointment at the visa application facility, you must utilise the online appointment calendar. You will receive an email message with your application number once you have completed your online application.

Step 4: Make a payment for your application fee.
Your visa application fee can be paid in one of four ways.
• Payment at Standard Chartered Bank Branches - You can pay your charge at some Standard Chartered Bank branches. The bank will write a demand draught in the name of "The British High Commission."
• Nationalized or foreign bank demand draught - You can pay your charge with a demand draught issued by a nationalised or international bank. The cost of this service will vary depending on the bank. The demand draught must be written in the name of 'The British High Commission.'
• Payment at the visa application centre - When you submit your visa application, you can pay the visa application fee at the visa application centre. • Pay using a Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card - You can pay your visa application fee online using a Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card.

Step 5 – On the scheduled date, go to the visa application centre.
To submit your application, facial photos, and fingerprints, you must schedule and attend an appointment at our visa application facility.

Work Permit

The UK post-study work visa permits international students to return to the UK after completing their graduate studies for a duration of two years to look for work. From September/autumn 2020 or later, the new visa regulations will be in place. PSW visa holders can work in any employment for the first year following graduation until they discover work that allows them to apply for a general work visa. Find out everything you need to know about the Post-Study Work Permit in the United Kingdom.

Spouse Visa

In the United Kingdom, a visa holder receives a Dependent Visa for the same period as the principal application. Only Master's degree applications are eligible for this. Undergraduates are not permitted to bring their dependents to the United Kingdom.

Your dependents apply as 'dependants of a Points Based System migrant' if you have a student visa. Each dependent fills out their own application and pays their own charge.

You must also show an additional £600 for each dependant for each month that you are seeking for maintenance funding, up to a maximum of 9 months' maintenance money. If you already have a scholarship, you can use it to offset the costs of maintaining your dependents. The scholarship letter must mention that monies will be used to support your dependents as well.
