Admission Requirements

These differ depending on the academic programme and level. Indian students must meet a minimum English language requirement for each subject. A minimum academic record of 65 percent or above in class XII will also be required. Students with a grade point average of less than 60% can enrol in Foundations and Diploma programmes. Before enrolling in a degree programme, the student must be 18 years old.

Most colleges will require you to create an account on their website in order to give basic information, send scanned copies of your papers, and pay application fees. Application fee: In Australia, not all institutions ask you to pay an application fee when you apply. In Australia, only 6-7 universities accept application fees from students.

Admission and Application Process

A student visa is required if you wish to study at an Australian university or institution. The following documents will be requested as part of your Australia Study Visa application.

• Valid Passport - You must have a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond your stay in Australia.
• Application for a Nonimmigrant Visa.
• A receipt for your application fee payment, as you must pay before your interview.
• Enrollment Confirmation Form (COE)
• The planned study plan will be included in your host university's acceptance letter.
• Confirmation letter from your current institution that you are a Study Abroad student.
• Receipt for international health insurance.
•2–4 passport-sized photos.

Please keep in mind that further documentation may be necessary. Additional documents may be required by the interviewer during the personal interview. These could be documents proving academic or financial standing.

• Transcripts, diplomas, degrees, or certificates from the colleges or universities you attended.
• Your intent to exit Australia following completion of the course of study.
• How you will pay for any educational, living, and travel expenditures that your college requires, such as the TOEFL, SAT, GRE, or GMAT.

Process

The Australian High Commission takes an average of 8 to 12 weeks to process visa applications, depending on the individual's history, therefore students should apply for their visas at least three months before their course begins. You must complete your course within the minimum course time indicated on your COE as an international student. You must depart Australia after your studies are over. You may need to apply for a visitor class visa if you want to stay in Australia for your graduation ceremony.

Work Permit

During their studies in Australia, student visa holders are allowed to work up to 40 hours a fortnight. Spouses of Masters and Ph.D. students are allowed to work an unrestricted number of hours. Spouse Visa

The student's partner receives a Dependent Visa as well as a valid work visa for the same time period as the principal application. Only Master's degree applications are eligible for this. Work visa

Graduates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree may be eligible for a two-year work visa after completing their studies. Graduates with a Master's by research degree or a Doctorate may be eligible for a three- or four-year post-study work visa, depending on their qualifications. Other graduates may be eligible to apply through the graduate work stream for an 18-month subclass 485 Visa.
