European Visitor Visa
EUROPEAN VISITOR VISA
A citizen of a foreign nation who wishes to visit the Europe must first obtain a European visa, which is then placed in the traveler's passport, which is a travel document issued by the traveler's home country.

TYPES OF VISITOR VISA
- Short-term visa: This visa permits for single or multiple entry and allows you to stay in the Schengen area for up to 90 days within the six-month validity period.
- Long stay visas: This is issued by countries and are valid for a period of more than 90 days. Here, the rules of national legislation apply.
- Airport transit visa: For citizens of specific countries, an airport transit visa is necessary.
If you meet the following criteria, you will be given a Schengen visa:
1. You may be able to persuade the visa issuing authorities that you intend to exit the Schengen Area before the visa expires.
2. You must have sufficient means of subsistence to last for the duration of your whole stay in the Schengen Area. You must also be able to show all of the necessary supporting documentation.
3. You must show proof that you have enough money to pay your expenses while in the Schengen zone.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
- Form for obtaining a visa. Completed and signed form.
- Two photographs taken recently must be provided. According to the visa photo requirements, both photos must have been shot within the last three months.
- A valid passport is required. It should be no more than ten years old and valid for at least three months beyond the day you want to exit the Schengen area. Passports with visas from the past
- Itinerary or reservation for a round trip. Dates and flight numbers detailing entry and exit from the Schengen area must be included. - Proof of lodging is required. A document that details where you will be staying throughout your stay in Schengen. One of the following is a possibility:
- A reservation for a hotel or hostel.
- A rental contract.
- A letter of invitation from the host who will be hosting you.
- Financial proof is required. Proof that you will be able to sustain yourself financially throughout your stay in the Schengen area. One of the following is a possibility: A bank account statement demonstrating that you have sufficient funds in your account for the trip. The statement must be no more than three months old.
- Sponsorship Letter — a letter from someone else confirming that they would financially sponsor your vacation to Schengen.
- Proof of payment of the visa fee. Adults pay €80, while children aged 6 to 12 pay €45.

The date of entry is considered as the first day of stay.
PROCESS OF APPLICATION
- Browse the website of Schengen Embassy for visa application form. Download the form.
- Complete the details in the form and submit it after signing it.
- Collect all the documents needed for the visa. Submit them along with the visa application form at the visa centre
- 1. If you are visiting just one country, then the visa will be applied to the Embassy/Consulate of that country.
- 2. If you are visiting more than one country, then submit the visa at the centre of the country where the stay will be for more days. And if, the stay for the number of days is same in 2 countries then submit the visa application at the country you will travel first.
- Schedule an appointment for the visa processing.
- Attend the interview and collect your passport.
