BENEFITS OF HAVING A DUBAI WORK PERMIT
Any foreigner above the age of 18 can work in the UAE as long as they meet the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation's requirements (MoHRE). Although there is no upper age limit for employment in the UAE, the company does charge a higher fee for workers over the age of 65.
Based on their academic qualifications/skill sets, foreign workers are categorized into three categories:
- If you hold a bachelor's degree or higher, you are in category 1
- If you hold a post-secondary diploma in any discipline, you fall into category 2.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR APPLYING DUBAI WORK PERMIT
The required documents to obtain a Dubai work permit include:
- An employment contract with a Dubai-based firm
- If applicable, copies of the applicant's birth certificate
- A valid passport
- If applicable marriage certificate
- A copy of a lease agreement, for example, is proof of lodging in Dubai.
- Evidence of the applicant's financial ability to support oneself in Dubai.
TYPE OF WORK PERMIT IN DUBAI
There is only one form of work permit in the UAE. A labour card is another name for this work authorization. Employees, on the other hand, must first obtain an entry visa, a resident visa, and an Emirate ID card before applying for a work permit.

PROCESS OF APPLYING WORK PERMIT OF DUBAI
In Dubai, it is the responsibility of the employer to get the relevant visas and permits for international workers. In addition, any visa fees must be covered by the employer. The steps are as follows:
- The employer submits an application to the Ministry of Labor for permission to hire a foreign worker.
- The Ministry gives an entry permit visa to the employee, allowing them to enter the UAE and stay for a duration of 30 days.
- The employee plans a trip to Dubai. They have 60 days from the time they arrive to get a resident visa.
- The employer starts the process of filing for a work permit, also known as a labour card, when the employee arrives in Dubai.
- To receive an ID, the employee goes to an Emirates ID service centre with their valid passport and entry visa.
- For a medical examination, the employee visits a government hospital.
- The employee submits an application to the immigration authorities for a residence visa
- The employee submits all required paperwork to the Department of Naturalization and Residency Dubai (DNRD), where the residency visa is stamped on their passport.
WORK PERMIT DURATON
The process begins with obtaining a work permit from MoHRE for an expatriate. The work permit permits the holder to work in the UAE for a period of two months from the date of issuing.
Following the employee's entry into the UAE on the basis of a work permit, the sponsoring firm organizes for medical tests, the acquisition of a UAE Resident Identity (Emirates ID) Card, a Labour Card, and the stamping of the work residency permit on his passport within a 60-day period. The employee's work residency permit on his passport indicates that he is sponsored by the company where he works.
