Why Study in Malta?

1. Colleges and Universities of the highest caliber
The Institution of Malta is the world's oldest university outside of the United Kingdom, with a rich and broad curriculum. The University of Malta, which was founded in 1592, has one of Europe's most prestigious performing arts schools. Students interested in music, dance, or drama will find that the theatre and music departments are well-equipped, with internationally renowned staff and guest instructors.

2. Exciting Place to study
For students who are worried about living in a foreign environment for a lengthy period of time, studying abroad can be challenging. Malta is an excellent choice for those who do not feel at ease in a completely foreign environment. Not only is it an English-speaking country (Maltese and English are the official languages), but it also has a diversified population of students and expats from all over the world. English-speaking students had no trouble communicating with locals and navigating the island.

3. Excellent weather, culture and cuisine
Malta is the island for you if you enjoy great food, beautiful weather, and interesting nightlife. Malta has some of the best cuisine in the world. While the cuisines of Malta's neighbors are significantly well-represented in the United States (Italian and Greek restaurants are far more common) Maltese foods are fresh, seasonal, and tasty.

4. Hub for outdoor Activities
Anyone who enjoys rock climbing, trekking, watersports, soccer, sailing, or simply relaxing on the beach will find Malta to be a paradise. Dive diving in Malta, on the other hand, is particularly exciting because the marine life in Maltese waters is among the most diverse and colorful in the Mediterranean. There are also many fascinating underwater vistas to be found, as well as the remains of ancient shipwrecks that have been transformed into sea life habitats.

5. Safest Country
While the more popular districts of Malta do draw pickpockets and scammers (as do many tourist sites), Malta is mainly crime-free and is regarded as one of Europe's safest destinations.

Admission Requirements

1.Each university has its unique set of GPA standards. However, a percentage of 50% or more is considered significant.

2.Bachelor's degree and postgraduate diploma: 10+2 with a minimum of 50%.

*10+2+3 or 10+2+4 for masters. Some universities may require an overall IELTS score of 5.5 or 6.

Cost of Studying in Malta

Life in Malta has retained its distinctive Maltese flavor while still providing incredible opportunities for international students – the social and nightlife is vibrant, the locals are known for their friendliness, the island is well-protected, and, to top it off, it is one of the least expensive destinations you can consider as a global student. As a result, Malta has been a popular destination for students looking to extend their college experience overseas in the last few years.

Malta's Education and Living Costs: Undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Malta cost between 6500 and 7500 euros each academic year. The annual cost of living includes all living expenses such as lodging, food, travel, books, clothing, and entertainment.

Admission and Application Process

For lengthier courses, a confirmation of registration with a maximum duration of 90 days is required to enter the country for a tourist visa to be obtained at the border. Once the course has begun, the student must apply for a visa extension, or for an exchange for the LONG STAY “D” student visa, which is valid for a maximum of 365 days. If there is no Malta Consulate in the student's home country, this visa can only be obtained in Malta.

Malta student visas are valid for courses lasting longer than three months. However, within Malta, the same must be requested. It is critical to understand that the student must study for at least 15 hours every week.

If the course is longer than 90 days, international students can study and work in Malta. From the 13th week onwards, English students in Malta are permitted to work.

The student can acquire a job and apply for a work permit after the extended visa is accepted in Malta. The student is legally permitted to work 20 hours a week. The hourly minimum salary is around EUR4.60.

To apply for a visa extension, the student must personally go to Malta's visa centre, the Central Visa Unit. It is suggested that the student request a course extension during the first two weeks of their arrival in the nation.

Payment of the 66.00 Euro application cost for this visa (It might change). This is a one-time cost that must be paid in cash.

It is critical to bring all of the documentation listed below, which must be provided at the designated school office within the first two weeks to begin the visa application process.

Submission of the following documents is required

• Completing the visa application form.
• submitting two passport-size pictures.
• presenting the original passport. This must be valid for the course being studied during the next three months.
• A photocopy of each page of your passport.
• A letter of acceptance from the Malta school. The letter must specify the course you are taking in Malta for more than three months, as well as the funds paid.
• Financial proof that you can afford to stay in Malta. You must demonstrate that the student has sufficient funds to cover the duration of his or her stay. For each month of stay, the sum shown must match to 75% of Malta's minimum wage. In terms of expenditures, this equates to 18 Euros a day if the student has already paid for the entire period of accommodation, which is determined by the length of the course. Simply double this daily value by 30 days and then by the number of months you will be studying in Malta. If the student has not paid for the entire stay, he or she must produce a daily payment of 30.00 Euros. A bank statement from an international account can be used to prove this amount. The statement must include the student's name and Debit card information.

Work

Understudies from all over the EU should be able to work while concentrating if they are in a difficult circumstance, although they are far more likely to look for job (for example, in housing) in the late spring than in the winter.

Working in Malta after graduation should be quite simple for students from inside the EU, while it will be more difficult for those from outside the EU - you may need to find an organization to help you. IT and interpretation services are examples of services that are well on their way to being used by countries outside of Europe.
